Put down that store-bought taco seasoning and make your own. This simple recipe from my grandfather is truly one of the best. It comes together quickly and will last for six months.
Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and mix until thoroughly combined.
Brown 2lbs of protein (ground beef, ground chicken, ground turkey, tofu crumbles, or faux meat crumbles).
Add seasoning and mix into protein of choice. Let spices toast for about 1 minute. Turn down heat to low.
Pour ½ cup to 1 cup of cold water over the spiced protein and mix well. The sauce will begin to thicken. The more water you add the more saucy the mixture will become.
